Questions, Answered

The questions we hear most often.

Straightforward answers to the questions that matter most. If you would prefer to talk something through, we are only a meeting away.

What is personal financial advice, and do I really need it?

Personal financial advice is guidance tailored to your specific situation. It helps you make clearer decisions about money, super, investments, property, insurance, tax and retirement. You do not need to be wealthy to benefit. Many people seek advice during a life change, when they have accumulated a few assets, or simply when they want a clearer sense of direction. If you feel uncertain about a financial decision, or you know you should be doing more but do not know where to start, a conversation can help.

How much does advice cost, and what am I paying for?

Costs depend on the complexity of your situation and the work involved. At Fund Wealth, we quote fees upfront before any work begins. You may pay a fixed fee for a specific strategy or project, and an ongoing fee if you choose to continue with regular reviews. We do not accept commissions on investment or superannuation products, so our recommendations are not influenced by what pays us. You will always know what you are paying for before we proceed.

Can you help me with my superannuation?

Yes. Superannuation is often one of the largest assets people own, and it deserves attention. We can help you consolidate multiple accounts, review your investment choice, improve your contribution strategy, and plan the transition from working life into retirement. Our aim is to make sure your super is working efficiently within your broader plan.

Will you manage my investments for me?

We provide investment advice and help you build a portfolio that matches your goals, values and comfort with risk. We can recommend how to invest, where to hold assets, and how to manage the portfolio over time. Whether you want us to oversee the implementation closely or simply guide you with a strategy you manage yourself, we can tailor the approach.

Do you advise on insurance as well?

Yes. Personal insurance — including life cover, income protection, trauma cover and total and permanent disability cover — is an important part of a complete financial plan. We review what cover you have, what you actually need, and how it fits with your income, debts and family. Where cover is arranged through us, we may receive a commission from the insurer, and we disclose the amount in full before you proceed.

When should I start retirement planning?

The earlier the better, but it is never too late. Retirement planning is not just about age — it is about when you want to stop working, how much income you will need, and how your super, investments and other assets can support that. Many people start seriously thinking about it ten to fifteen years before retirement, though we also work with recent retirees who want to make sure their strategy is right.

Do you also help with home loans?

Yes. Through our mortgage broking service, we can help you find and secure a loan that fits your strategy — whether you are buying a home, refinancing, or investing in property. We compare options across a panel of lenders and handle the application process. This means your lending and your broader financial plan can be considered together, not separately.

What happens in the first meeting?

The first meeting is an unhurried conversation, not a sales pitch. We ask about your life, your priorities, your concerns and what you want to achieve. We also explain how we work, what we charge, and whether we think we are the right fit for you. There is no obligation to proceed. You are welcome to bring a partner or family member.

How often will we review my plan?

That depends on what you need. Most clients benefit from an annual review, where we check progress, discuss any changes in your life, and adjust the strategy if needed. We also stay in contact throughout the year, and you can reach out whenever something changes or a question arises. Reviews are not calendar-driven events — they are part of an ongoing relationship.

How do I get started?

Simply book an introductory call through the website or send us an email. We will find a time that suits you, explain the process in advance, and use the first meeting to understand whether Fund Wealth is the right place for you. If it is not, we will tell you honestly and point you in the right direction.

Still Unsure?

Every question is welcome.

No question is too small or too obvious. The first meeting is simply a chance to understand your situation and explain how we can help — without pressure or obligation.
